The Purity of the Simple Wrong

Ha ha ha, this is hilarious. Simply wrong and that s what doing it. But let me complicate it for you :

First of, childen, elderly and animals always tend to  make more mistakes comedically speaking... Here we see a child writing all the wrong grammar and very wrong basic knowledge...

Second of, similarities always might cause confusion, like we celebrate couple days in a year, it is Chrismas, 4th of July and Thanksgivig etc... one can mix them who is prone to mistakes...

Funny Robots&Algortihm

      Comedy can be even written on an algorithm, this can be useful in creating funny robots. It is very possible. Once you find a true basis in which the whole structure of comedy can be produced, not only it is possible to teach it to people, it is also possible to teach it to machines.

      Now, I am not saying, people should stop trying to explain comedy scientifically, anyways they will find many useful things but their minds should register after some point, the whole concept of reason comes from DUALITY. Without it, there is no reason and reasoning, again after some time, they should understand comedy does not come from the level of duality. It is above it and only mechanism it has is reversing duality.

 

     One can only, reveal this mechanism in a way, that, human mind and a robotic mind can reproduce it later, once the pattern is visible. I am happy to say, I have found this pattern and it works wonders for me.

Now, pay attention to the charges of the sentences, women faking orgasm is a negative. Alone there are various places where this has been used  and generated the funny. Sometimes alone a negative is enough. Especially, we see this in romantic comedy movies. Depending on the connection, it can be enough. Here, it s not enough. 

Technique is, go from negative to even bigger negative.

We already have men*women contradictory forces. Whenever there is contradiction, there is chance of lots of negativity. Men faking a whole relationship is a way bigger negative.

*Don't forget blow jobs are like flowers for men.

Here, always remember, whenever there is contradciton, intense difference, always go for it. Women&men duality has been used a lot, no need to give examples, you will find it many many movies jokes etc. We can not say, the wrong, the mistake, the negative..but intense difference, almost to the level it can or could feel wrong for the one another.

Technique is, intense difference, not wrong but almost can feel wrong for one of the sides in the polarity. 

We will always always use this in many occasions and it will be obvious to you.

You should always go for the negative and the contradiction. Here, aging is picked because, aging can bring many many negativities and contradictions. You should understand that there is no joke, if there is no negativity and contradiction. This should be what on your mind all the time. In order to go to negative , you should not be so entangled with the emotion and thoughts. You should process them quickly and transcend them , once you are on a higher plane than that, you can consciously go to the negative to build jokes and have fun.

*Before you marry a person, 

You should first make them use a

 computer with slow internet,

to see who they really are.

This is a great example of a joke that comes against our emotion. It would be perfect, if this was said in a stiuation  when one was really considering marrying someone and in very deep thoughts about what to do. Internet connection is not a big deal, here by putting this light argument we make fun of the seriousness of the subject.

Another idea can be, only making a joke about internet connection, by exaggerating , we make it silly, completely against logic. That what creates the funny as I always say. This joke can go both ways, either go against emotion or logic.

Understanding Philosophy Through Jokes

There were some really nice jokes in this book, I will share one this time. Particularly, I liked those couple jokes because I m very interested in creation, spirituality and philosophy. Since I am already loaded with lots of logical&emotional input, the jokes had a better impact on me. Now, remember what I always say, the initial state a person is in emotionally&logically will determine their reaction to the joke.

I have liberated thoughts because of that I was fine with the jokes, on the other hand, for a person who takes their religion, God so personally, instead of laughing, they can get offended or if they dont have very active emotional&logical side to them for religion, jokes might not feel so funny. The joke will contradict to those emotions&logic, the stronger the contradiction, the funnier the joke. If no strong emotion&logic initially, the oppurtunity of strong contradiction is missed.

So if you are buying such a book, means , you already have strong thoughts&emotions about the subject. So the type&subject of jokes were on point here.

The joke is in the form of a cartoon, in the cartoon we see God sitting on his throne, above the clouds, next to him we see an Angel, Angel is suprised, God says " It is really embarrasing to admit but there is no reason at all that has ever happened and happening ! "  

Normally, reality has a limitation when it comes to the wrong&mistake&negative...because if it s too negative and full of mistakes, it s not inhabitable for human life. But we can "suppose" "create many scenarios full of mistakes&negativity for the sake of comedy" Cartoons and any other comedical form serves that purpose.

Why, is the most important question and we might see God, who can really answer that question? What would be so opposite, wrong, incredibly horrible... It would be Him saying, there is no reason at all, sorry... :) Always go the upmost negative for comedy, go big to the mistake just like in this example.

Basics for Comedy

* Comedy is the contradiction against our emotions and logic, or our ego.

** Comedy reverses life. In order to understand comedy, we need to understand life and be able to create meaningful divisions of life around us! Then the techniques of comedy are not too complicated.

***You can not explain comedy by the subjects of comedy, this is what creating absolute mess in how to understand and teach comedy. You should explain the techniques and then the subjects or topics comedy uses= will it be science, politics, religion or art  etc....

**** The very basic for life is, duality. It is duality creates reason, if you pay attention, you will see only there is duality, there is reason and result. Only there is duality, there is time.

Comedy will destruct everything, so the very basic thing you can play with is, reason and result, Time, past and future... In so many jokes, we see the reason and the result have been assumed to be the most wrong, silliest, worst.... We see always contradiction of time has been used, there will always be comparion, always be difference past and future that will create comedy.

Let s look at one of his jokes=

I still love rap music, I love it ! But I m tired of defending it.  (imitating other people talk)'That s not music, that's not art, that's garbage, how can you listen to it?'.. It was intellectually easy to defend it, it was art.............Now it s hard to defend it (singing a rap song full of bad language) (laughter**) " Move Bitch, get off my way, get off my way Bitch, get off my way" ( a very famous rap song back then, sings) (Laughter**), As you see there is a bitch on his way and he needs to move... (even more laughter***)

Here the basic division is Art. It could be many subjects, religion, science, bussiness etc. Information used in comedy and the technique used in comedy are the two basic division we will always have. Mostly, when I look at how people try to describe comedy is mess , simply because they do not make this clear. Art is the subdivision of information of comedy. ( In my book, I clarified everything)

Art is a good choice and a good source. It will always be there and it will always multiply! For comedian, art will provide ! Beyond arts richness, we have this very simple reality " Art stems from emotions" Remember what I always say, comedy is to come against emotions and logic.  The very resource of art is emotion. 

Since comedy makes fun of both our emotion and logic, you will find immense number of examples where people make fun of artists, song lyrics, song videos...

However here, comedian simply states those awful lyrics, it is funny because it s horrible slang which we call art. This is naturally funny. He only spotted that...."Making fun of lyrics" is very very common, internet is full of that... Here comedian again stated with a straight face, as you see there is a bitch on his way and he needs to move...in the song with the music, it does not feel that silly...being said like that, it is silly and that s why it is very funny.

Charlie Chaplin

I will talk about his " The Cure" short film. It takes place in a spa- hotel. We have many many "subjects" here. Now, SUBJECT+OBJECT+VERB  is the main structure of daily life. For comedy, every subject has the potential to create mistakes because of that, every subject adds more value for comedy in your films, stories or daily life jokes.

If you pay attention, in many comedy movies, short stories  you will see, comedian uses one simple pattern " one s doing the job wrong or insufficiently" .. We see this all the time! Comedy is what is wrong, in my article " https://decodingcomedy.blogspot.com/2020/07/position-wrong-for-comedy.html ", I specify the quality of the wrong. Simply, you have to go for the wrong within certain parameters. Since jobs cover the most adult life, it is no suprise that, we see this pattern in most comedy structures, also in Chaplin's short film.

In this spa-hotel, who work here do their job very wrong. The person who brought Chaplin's luggage, drinks all of his liquor when his room was empty, other person who is responsible for health does the same, he tries to flirt with a customer in the hotel, other person who gives massages tortures his customers, beat them up almost under the name of giving massages....

This is spa where sick people come for their cure... What should comedian picture here ? Think about it .... Of course the opposite, the most wrong, a person who would not care about his health, keep smoking and consuming alcohol.. This wrong is a funny set up totally, it is against the emotion& logic and will be more.

Why is this a funny set up.?.. Here is another basic= Mistakes are potent to create more mistakes. This is the nature of all mistakes, just pay attention to this fact for one moment. Since alcohol arrived to this hotel, this is a potential mistake for any other mistake...

Comedian uses this, the people who are working there ( subjects are potential wrong doers, remember), drink his alcohol and get drunk,,, What happens, their supervisor realises this and tell them to throw the bottles away... He mean discard them actually.... Mistake creates another mistake, since the person is already drunk, does not know what he is doing and throws bottle at spa water where people drink. This mistake will of course create a major mistake, people will drink this and all get drunk, starting to dance &flirt in whole hotel scale.

POSITION THE WRONG FOR COMEDY

To teach you quickly and give the basic , I said for comedy, go for the wrong=

create the wrong

see the wrong in life

 act wrong, act like acting wrong

But the wrong can be also destructive and very painful, this is how we construct our dramatic works in some style of novels, stories...How will it be different than drama?  Now, to create a joke, what is the position should be?

1- You should be away from the center of the drama, the wrong

2-You might come to a maturity , you do not take yourself as the center of universe and naturally you dont get affected by many things in life so you can take a joke about the wrong things of your life

3-But some mistakes and the wrongs can still be very powerful and ruin you right? So the magnitude of the mistake should not be damaging, it can even be something very unimportant, like tripping as you walk or your spouse accidentally appearing naked behind as you video talk to your parents, or giving a live as a reporter in COVID pandemic etc....

4- We can only "do wrong so much" but we can almost endlessly act like doing wrong! This enlarges the universe of comedy. You mostly act like acting wrong and assuming things and people are wrong also, this is how funny is generated safely (without offending or hurting noone) if not naturally found

Joe Rogan Funny

He talks about one of his experiences while he was working at 19 years of age, saying he saw many things. One time, he saw a man sliding into intersection in Boston and while he was sliding, he saw the man sipping his coffee :)) hahaha. This is funny because, remember our main mantra for comedy " coming against our emotion and logic", we can also say "coming against our expectations or doing the wrong, mistake, negative. Why  the wrong is coming against our expectation is, because in our minds everything goes from negative to postive, this is our intention, direction. Wrong is the violiation. Also,on the more embracing term, "coming against our expectation"... Here, we do not expect driver to be so calm to the level that he could sip his coffee at that time! This is the technique of comedy. The subject is " being unnaturally calm in an emergency stiuation".. 

Now, do not worry, techniques are comedy are not too complicated. Once you learn the basics, applying them to whole range of subjects-stiuations is not that hard. The subjects of comedy, can be much more, but then again, there is a way to organise that information. This will diminish your load of work.

Rodney Dangerfield

Let s decode some of his jokes.

Now this was year 1974, everything in society was different back then... If we joke about something now, it can be acceptable but in future it might not. What determines this is, our distance from those particular emotion and logic. We can even make jokes about death, bu you cant make them next to a person who lost their loved one past year. The more entangled to the drama, the less it will be funny. If you can learn to distance yourself, you will naturally bring laughter to a degree. At first, it seems to us, there is only one way to respond to something emotionally but by the time you mature yourself, you actually can distance yourself from many dramas.

So when he jokes about kids looking like you cant tell a boy from a girl, was okay and funny back then. Now what he has found a negative... Like I taught in my other articles since life has  a flow from negative to postive in our minds, we naturally have a tendency to hear him talking better things than a negative this time.., this is a subtle expectation underneath our reality...

Then he goes, He asked that person if that teenager was a girl or boy and the person answer= Boy, that s my son... then Rodney asks, are you the father and he answers= NO I am the mother.  (laughter)

He took a negative and dragged it to even more negative. This is always a powerful set up for a joke, we use two negatives instead of only declining from positive to negative... we show a negative and decline even further to the negative which makes a joke even more funnier. This is one solid technique, most skilled comedians, cartoonists use. Do not forget this technique and  the polarities take part.

Now in his other jokes. he proceeds to talk about how his life is hard and bad, his bank, his dentist, his psychiatrist ... here he constantly escalates in bad, for comedy go for the bad, mistake, wrong and negative. One simple techniqure and he is implementing it perfectly here... With it example it goes worse, and this is another technique, things should only go worse in comedy..

What makes the negative more alive? If you picture it, explain it with people, conversations, mimics and connections.. Here he uses some.... He says, he told his psychiatrist he has suicidal tendencies, and answer of doc is, =Pay in advance. This is the worst because it s about lie&death. Strenght of negativity is bigger here than the bank and the dentist. His technique is perfect.

He enlarges the psychiatrist example=

- Doc help me, all I think all day long is I am ugly

-He says lay down face down.

Comedy is your assumption, you can assume people act wrong, so wrong, and that s funny just like Rodney did perfectly... I will show many examples as such, and it will establish a basis in your mind.

Wrong Descriptions of Comedy

         As I discussed earlier in my articles, for comedy you have to go the negative, go to the mistake, go to the wrong, especially in an positive to negative declining manner..


       FIRST OF THIS DECLINE, IT IS AN AUTOMATIC  VALUE OF COMING AGAINST ONE S EXPECTATIONS, BECAUSE IN LIFE, WE ALWAYS WANT TO GO FROM NEGATIVE TO POSITIVE. SINCE we are always in a mental space as such, comedy mostly appers to be coming against one s expectations.... In some jokes , you might focus on this a lot, but in fact, this is already a basic.

    So talking about timing, punclines etc, is like saying there is some water drops in the ocean wow...
Such descroptions of comedy only comes from not understang the basics.

Bill Burr Example

           He used examples from Oprah, Steve Jobs and Politics. It is clever because, when the subject is famous, there is a strong min&heart stuff build up already, so many emotions and thoughts are already created. So when there is already a build up, it is easy to bend the curve to the negative, we have a strong basis to create contradiction.


           You can find his shows all over YT, his joke about " the hardest job in the world, being a mom" .. He takes this as a basis, now he will contradict this, first technique

          * Make fun of the  "Being emotional about something". This technique always apply many cases in life. Pay attention, you will always see people are in the grip of some strong emotion. We dont have to be in the grip of the emotion to laugh at the joke, we also understand the connection. Sometimes the connection within us can be too strong to even laugh at the joke. Joke is not neccesarily universal because everyone has a different connection, one can laugh but also strongly get offended...  ( That is why Bill Burr has gotten an angry letter from feminists)
       
              Comedy itself, makes fun of two fundamentals = Emotion and Logic. These can be targeted personally, these can be taken personally on the contrary... Yet in core, this is pure comedy itself, only people are trying to target or getting offended. Material of comedy is emotion and logic. Now I am not saying getting ofendded is wrong, we have every right to defend our character&honor etc if someone using it to target... If it is not to hurt  you can get the joke to levels of your own attachment to your ego...

              Making fun of " One s being emotional about something"  is easy especially, you will always  have people around you, deeply embbeded in their emotions... The basis is already there, you dont have to create it...Comedian can create it, as copying life...but you dont have it.. All you have to do is to recognise it.


** How does he make fun of it?

This is very very very common... It is almost everywhere, all the time... Women are considered very emotional (but the subject does not have to be a woman, in this case it was coming from a womanly dominated enviroment which strengthens the contradiction).. This creates a very steady , strong basis for comedy, now we have a great potential to reverse this! Men generally percieved as less emotional because of that they tend to make fun of this naturally, because of the nature of the men&women dualities. This is a very simple technique , that works and being used everytime, I understand people trying to copyright one line jokes, but as you see, it is no brainer and the techniques behind them are very easy... All you have to do is to recognise emotions and act against them, make fun of them.. Try to see the dynamic, once you see it, it will be obvious to you and I am sorry you wont laugh so much at many jokes and you will learn to distance yourself from your own emotion&logic which is a spiritual practise in itself. If you hate yoga, forget the last part then !


He imitates, "how a woman might talk with his own voice" Imitating one s talking is again one simple major technique of making fun of someone. Again no brainer, he was expected to do that !

He continues, " I thought picking the rubbish from the bottom of sea was a harder job..." He repeats many extreme examples of hard worked jobs, this strengthen the contradiction, coming against what Oprah said,  here funny, is the contradiction, showing how Oprah statement can be ridicilous logically, this thing agains logic makes the joke! Coming against emotion and logic did the job!

Joe Rogan

        My comments are not to his personality, only the techniques.

      Let s analyse=

     He was not funny, he is only talking about "straight facts with a bunch of F word" .. As I always say, for comedy go the negative, basically. But the negative, only is powerful with the positive... There should be always an opposition created.  That is the reason using lots of F word not only does not guarentee being funny, since it is used too much to replace some lack, it feels very lame.

    Talking about negative things only, is not the comedy... You should create a decline, from positive to negative, the sharper the decline, funnier the joke.

    Now, what is positive? We already have positive . it is the direction audience having. They are already in that positive mindset, but you should build another positive situation only to decline the opposite end, in the most unexpected fashion.

 

COMEDY & FLOW OF LIFE

         If you pay attention to the flow of life , you will see that, one is always trapped within the range of positive and the negative. We are constantly trying to move things from negative to positive. No matter how lazy we are, we are still heading to this direction.

        This creates certain load&quality of emotion and logic constantly being present in us. This logic+emotion complex, is your source of reaction to comedy. Comedy and the flow of life are in opposite directions.Basically, by reversing life, we obtain comedy. In detail there are many methods. Simply, one can begin to understand and create comedy by recognising this.

       

Copyright Issues

     In a way, a very compact and thick work of art comedy should be copyrighted of course but when you see people copyright, one or two line funny sentences, I dont know :)) This is the reason I am compelled to write and reach people..because comedy is not mysterious as they make it to be !

How Do You Position Yourself for the Joke?

     Concluding everything I said, you reach a stand point where you make yourself ready ... Now I dont know, how naturally funny people make it, because I have never been like that ! But I learnt to position myself internally to generate it, in a way , I have determined a frequency of state of mind and it worked !

     Remember, our basis was to transcend the emotion and logic:  All the time in our lives, we are entangled to our emotion and logic..that might create a certain amount of drama, either you can stay at the level of the drama and lost in that pshycological mess, or you learn to distance yourself from all and make fun of them. The more you learn to distance yourself, the more jokes will be obvious to you.

    Let s start with an example:

    If you watch closely, there is a pattern how most people talk, generally, currently they are in the line of emotion and logic, entangled very well around their ego. Ego, here, does not neccesarily mean being selfish and proud of themselves, it can be simply protection of their basic existence, honest character... So look at how a mother is talking about her husband s family, you already smell the drama here. Her brother in law accusing her visiting their village only when the harvest of the corn field time arrives. She talks about it in an offended way, it is not true, how come he can say that etc... This is basic reaction, getting lost in the pshycological drama but there is an upper and uplifting reaction also for everyone in this picture= Making fun of it.

     By being offended, getting angry she is no good for herself neither for the rest of the family, you dont want to see your mother getting affected , influenced badly, you want to see her overcoming, cheerful etc. You dont want drama between your spouse and your family...But if you were to take everything dramatically, this can happen very often. Not good for noone,

    Here the joke is, the son says to his mother : Then why did not you say, when would I come to villiage other than the harvest time.. Of course, that s the best time. Everyone laughs, she laughs, feels great. If you can wire your brain in such a way, most of the dramatic events would not happen.

    The technique of the joke here, whenever there is a false accusation and you are not that, instead of getting offended, make fun of it... Remeber what we say, comedy is against emotion and logic and things go from positive to negative.... Here own the negative, of course, she is doing the selfish behaviour, and everyone will laugh.

    Everyone will laugh, especially, there is a seroius, offensive, aggresive atmosphere....You transcend it where it most needed and there is a sudden relief from the grip of duality and the drama might be dragged from it.

   You always position yourself in a way , to ready to rise beyond your emotions and logic, not taking them very seriously to begin with, inside, teach yourself how you can abondan them and react as making fun of all.

Is Comedy Above the Ego?

      This is a good question. Just like anything, also comedy can turn into a ego feeding machine. Remember how some people of some religion or spiritual tradition, goes for innocent purpose but as they gain power, they forget about this goal and use their power to enjoy themselves through their ego. That is the reason some of the things are not taught people untill they matured to a level, which makes perfect sense...

      Osho s example was the perfection! He says, all these spiritual work is to wake you up, it is like the alarm clock.... but when the clock rings, instead of waking up, you keep dreaming with the alarm clock in it. This happens a lot, like your dream leaks into your reality and reality leaks into your dream...Consciousness will seal the borders if one can cut the unneccesary emotions&actions. People keep making this spiritual journey as a ego contest. This applies to comedy also. This can change the direction of the jokes and the person, it might sour and or might feel so forced after some time.

         Comedy is above the ego, but one can always use this aboveness for themselves selfisly !

 

Trying Hard to Explain Comedy Scientificaly is the Joke Itself.

    What is wrong with science? Absolutely nothing! The idea of trying to fit everything into science s box is the silly approach, and not even a logical thought.

    Science only works within our five senses, our measurements and reasoning. Problem arises here such as, if one always lived withing five senses and could never rise beyond, will think that is it, so anything works methodically with them is legit, especially if it produces products to a degree that ease our lives. Human beings are capable of beyond five senses and can break down the illusion of five senses as so, this is beyond sciences measurements and there is a good chance that its truth is not absolute, simply, logically.

   Now, the problem comes about reasoning is, reason can only be talked about, IF THERE IS DUALITY. When we are coming from a level, above duality, which is comedy itself, we can not talk about a reason. We can not tell why we are laughing but it makes us feel wonderful, we are not bound by duality within the experience, we are above it. Reason only on the table, if we are on the level of duality....

  Measurements (five senses) and reasoning problems makes it impossible to breakdown comedy scientifically. Yet we can break it down by the methods it uses and by the subjects it extends to. Comedy talent, because of these breakdowns is actually teachable and it should not be made so much matter of one s ego too ! In the core, idea is to transcending of ego, with that sense, one can generate it, even though they were not able to before.

Comedy and Spirituality

       Almost all religions and yogic traditions talk about being selfless, or transcending our ego. Even though we have no idea what that is, we might -hopefully- have a distinguishing sense about what is really needed to be done or what is excessively done for the sake of our own pride-greatness.

      All the spiritual work or all the religious work people do, is to overcome these unneccesary emotions and actions which if not worked on, can deepen even more the illusion of the ego or the wrong self.

      In life, everything should evolve from negative to the positive, yet again positive can be falsely defined by our current sense of ego...Comedy seems to me, takes action right here! Only in comedy, things go from the positive to the negative and it feels so much fun!

     Comedy, in a sense, feels like a divine clue that gives the impression, going against our emotion and logic is a universal joke itself, we can make fun of them because they are not that important, it is our beliefs and attachments to our ego, makes it serious-painful.

   That is the reason, in the  short experience of joke, you feel so much relief as of all the troubles of the world has been lifted off from your shoulders. It is like glimpse -clue  of the truth, that set you free for that moment, then it is up to us to catch the clue and develop it comedically or spiritually.

    In this case, I will only cover the techniques and the subjects of comedy, rather than spiritual work but this idea is the basis of my breakdown.
